This beautiful and truly unique
PanAbode cedar log cottage was built in the 1960s.
Located on Anstruther Lake, near Apsley, in the Kawarthas, Ontario, this
property is on a protruding curve of the shoreline with southern exposure,
providing sunshine
from dawn till dusk.
Two factors contribute to the sense of privacy at this special location:
neighbours are around the bend in a little bay, and cars will never drive
by as this retreat is water access only! And, although situated within
the cooling shade of a mature pine and oak forest, the cottage is only
steps away from the water.
The original cedar log boathouse provides a furnished, shady lounge area
with 180° vistas and cool breezes. A perfect setting for barbecues
and day or
night time entertainment (electric outlets and lights available).
A large swimming dock offers plenty of space for tanning and playing.
The dock is separated from the boathouse by a 50 foot enclosure of shallow
water
with sandy bottom, sheltered from the open lake.
The large stone fireplace in front of the cosy couch area in the livingroom
makes it a pleasure to read or play, and the new airtight, wood burning
insert provides efficient, excellent heat on bad-weather days or nights.
3 piece bathroom and kitchen completely refurbished in 2008 with ultraviolet
water purification system.
